from love to...

from love to...

A Poem by Satellite Heart

We were young
We were love
We were together
You were my friend
You were my snack sharer
You were my swing pusher
I was only yours
I was your bike racer
I was your hand holder
Summer Days
Koolaid Kisses
Side-Walk-Chalk
Remember when we said
I
love
you.
and meant it
Now things are all wrong,
Love has a new meaning
to you.
I hide myself in books
You try to pull me out
of this daze, depression
Silence stretches for weeks...
And you walk up to a little girl
In the corner of the gym
Pull the book from my lap
And say
How did we go from love to hate.
I took off my glasses
and for the first time in awhile
I looked into that little boy's eyes
and sayed
what is love anymore.
