eat my heart out

eat my heart out

A Poem by Satellite Heart

I smell her perfume on your shirt
It burns through my chest like acid

Lipstick stains your face
My skin melts away

I trace my fingers down the bruises on your chest
And my blood boils

When she's in your arms
You might as well eat my heart out.

simple and short, but very effective. I don't think it needs to have many words to it because the message was given clearly. great piece! :)

I really liked this! It was so simple, yet I think it was the simplicity of it which made it effective. You captured the emotions so strongly, and I could totally relate to the feeling of having your "heart eaten out'. =P Really well-written descriptions too, creating emotionally evocative imagery. I loved the ending.
Nice write,
