Water

Water

A Poem by DevinPerkins

To have a gift would be to have a curse.

For the curse is to see the jealousy in the ignorant,

The empathy in the well-natured,

And the pity and sympathy in the intelligent.

The gift could be the water on a flower,

And you could be the flower itself.

The second the water drips onto the leaf and keeps hold there,

That's when the gift has turned into a curse.
