The Chronicles

The Chronicles

A Poem by Diana

The Chronicles,
tales that won't abate.

Of you...and I.
Chronically chronicling
my dreams of goodbye.

The inveterate nightmare,
circling the drain.

The chronic chronicles.
A nightmare strain.

The hero's thread.
Long-gone.

Long-suffering,
An ode to ill gain.

wow this is intense. When we want a goodbye but it won't come. When we no longer see that significant other as a hero, but more as a foe...
and the suffering is like stagnant water circling the drain but it won't go down...
clogged with pain.
Love this one...

Hello Diana. I followed Zoe here and was pleased to find this write. When you get to feel this sort of intensity in a relationship, it needs to end quickly. Long and protracted is even more damaging. A pathway into the light is awaiting. Great read.

We can't help documenting our losses. It's part of the process of working through them. We document, pick apart, study the threads, and, if we are lucky, start a new story. You'll get to the goodbye. I promise!

Expectations are often discovered to be disappointing and lead to a hero's demise. Relationships can turn out to be rickety bridges if not repaired.

Relic, thanks for sharing your insight.
Some men and women can fill libraries on relationahips that went sour. I will wait for the juicy details. This was an excellent introduction.
