Reading this, it gave me the definition of Depression. It's a monster that comes at any time, grabbing hold of you, destroying every part of you. It's not an easy battle for many, but we all have our ways to cope and make it through. Your words are powerful and telling.
I do not believe you have become a 'freak of nature'; just a victim of a cruel twist of fate! Your short poignant piece projects a seed of hope, as by just sharing your emotional envelopment, you have identified an issue, that with support, you will overcome - sending you a smile as my contribution - :-)

Few survive a MAJOR illness without understanding others' that have or ARE facing such a future/present occurrence. AND even what medical pros might define as minor still has ramifications that beggar belief.
A wild ride in your words. I liked how you used the description. Made the reader believe. A strong ending. I wanted to know and read more. Thank you Diana for sharing the amazing poetry.
