The Perfect Answer

The Perfect Answer

A Poem by Diana

The Perfect Answer

As the rain pounds on the windowpane

and tears pool down my face.

I think of all the things you could have done to help me,

and it's an absolute disgrace.

You're waiting for the perfect X-ray,

the perfect blood test to tell you what to do.

You act as though you haven't brains within your head.

As you wait for the perfect result...

just react with the heart when someone is in need. too much thought, hesitation and it ends up being too late.

i relate in a different way to this...right now, having gone through a bunch of tests, for weeks and now finally getting the right one tomorrow...the one i probably should have had in the first place...in this case, better late than never...

but with the heart, never comes often before late.

Life is never perfect and if someone wants to help, they will reach out and do so. A perfect result? It will never happen. When people you think are friends let you down, it is a terrible feeling. Lydi**

Says a great deal, not just of one person in a relationship, but of humanity itself.

Thank you!
Great little piece, it seems to be saying; and only after you get it do you realize that nothing is perfect, everything ends up being a guess at best, so go with what you think is best and quit wasting my time.

Amen. Great answer. Thank you.
it can take a lifetime to finally realize that perhaps there is no perfect answer.. and the only wrong one is none at all..
