Secrets on Tiptoe

Secrets on Tiptoe

A Poem by Diana

I never wanted to have secrets,
but somehow they found me.

Creeping in trellis-like fashion
up the walls of my brick house.

Tainting the facade
and effacing the foundation.

Experiences drawn like markers in the sand.
Separating you and I.

As the secrets tiptoe up the brick and mortar pathway,
filling in cracks I never knew existed.

god, this is good...my brick house which i thought was impenetrable, maybe like my heart and my conscience...

but those cracks i never knew existed found me....

and now...the separation of you and me is like a body in a brick wall that will never be found.

Thank you, terry!
I have found the best way to keep a secret
is to hide it in plain site.

We all have secrets that dont need to be outed or shared.
They are untrusted to us and it is our moral duty to protect them.

Some it's just better that nobody else know what we've done....... or do.

"Your secret is safe with me" is a sacred promise.

Loved your metaphors in this powerful piece.

Thanks, Trace!
I do understand and liked the poetry. Secret do become larger and more dangerous. I liked the way you described the movement of secrets. Thank you Diana for sharing the excellent poetry.
