Funhouse
A Poem by
Diana
They call this a funhouse, but I'm not so sure.
The mirrors reflect light onto
distorted facsimiles of my self.
The jagged edges
catch my tattered clothing.
Cutting me as I run,
staggered.
And black trails
lie in the wake
of ebony mascara
worn to the quick...
as slick tears
trace my sunken cheekbones.

Excellent piece Diana! I love the whole feeling of running from your true yourself. You presented it in a very dark and captivating way.
You always have this very nice way of expressing true emotion and great writing in very short, well flowing poems. I love your style

That's okay, Jonathan. Words aren't always necessary.

Whether you realize it or not, this is very sophisticated piece. Physical reality is a mirror, so if you frown, the reflection cannot smile back at you. Nice drop. Thank you for your reflections.

Thank you so much.
The not so fun house here. The warped mirrors give us a sense of some monster that lies within and that scares us to death.

Funhouses can easily turn into scary ones depending on our reflections of the inner we . I like your creative analogies ...Bravo......................

Thank you, Rita.
Diana, we are never what we see staring back at us from a mirror...we are only what we are inside. That is where all of our beauty lives, though in your case I would think that such a beautiful reflection would be enchanting.
