The Weight of the Water
A Poem by
Diana
Like tennis shoes
in a swimming pool,
I'd shed this weight,
If only I could.

So much said between the lines here, Diana. There are some weights (responsibilities or problems) we are unable to "untie" and take off. It takes a lot of time. You have a special talent for getting a point across with so few words. I liked this. Lydi**

Thank you, Lydi.
Ah the weight we carry is only made heavier when soaked with emotion. A bite of philosophy for the soul.
There is a wonderful movie called the Weight of Water starring Sean Penn who happens to play a poet in the film.

Thank you. That seems fitting. I hadn't heard of the movie until now.
Unusual, but effective imagery. Made me smile.
