Competitions... I like a healthy competition when it comes to skills and talents. That's how you test yourself and learn from your competitors with different styles and techniques that you don't know.
But other competitions? Competing with someone to win the heart of somebody. Competing to get the position. Competing for fame. Ha! I won't participate in such competition. lol. The prize is all theirs. I want a peaceful life.
This is witty. I like it.

Thank you, Sweet Reine. The last competitions you spoke of are unnecessarily cruel in my opinion.

P.S., I tried posting a picture with this one. I don't think it worked...

I love the image of the candy cane at the end. That is one unique way to look at it. Competition is not always good for the soul. There are arenas in life where competition has no business. Nicely done.

Thank you, icelandicblue. Too much competition. Silly culture.
Competition is all around us and at times it is nearly cruel. I believe in competing with myself....making myself do more and do better than before. I liked the simile of the candy cane. If someone only wants you "pretty and neat" that person is not seeing the true you...the one that has a soul and a heart. This is empowering. Lydi**

It is sad that some people are like this. Your poem today Diana is straight up truth. Like me for who I am, not what you want me to be. To me, beauty lives deep within...well beyond the magazine covers and make up counters. Very nicely done my friend.

I swear the tendency not to fix things in contemporary culture translates into the way we treat people, too. If she's not perfect, "Man, trade her for in the latest model."
Beauty should be more. I agree wholeheartedly (has nothing to do with my face).
Wow. So true and well spoken. Some women I guess feel men play them for a competition of sorts but they have great self assurances and they want to feel that they are The one and no one can compete with them. They feel special and don't like games and shananigans of men I guess...I don't blame them in the bit,...Another great one...:)...........................

Too many men I've met spend their time looking for their "dream girl" or moving on when they get "bored" or she shows signs of "not being perfect." Gasp.
