Human Thirst

Human Thirst

A Poem by Diana

Needs
that go unfulfilled.

Desires
that are not quenched.

Fruits
that go untasted.

Bodies
that ache.

Hearts
and souls
disconnected.

Born and bred
to a life of transience
we thirst for more.

To always want more when you don't have it is good I suppose, but to want more of that special someone once you have found them, is the way it should be. Diana, you created so many thoughts in my mind with your words today that I actually wrote and re-wrote these comments three times. Each time I began and was running with a thought, I stopped and thought again. This piece may be simple in structure and size, but it is an amazing work. Nicely done.

Thank you for your words, Jack. To be confused or overflowing with too many thoughts is a good way .. read more

Sometimes we honestly do not have enough and other times we don't take stock of what we have and instead we thirst for more.

Yes, indeed.
And it is that thirst that keeps us moving into the future....keeps us motivated. Thirst is a good thing. You have said a lot in these short lines. Well written. lydi**

Wasn't so much about the owning more. Thinking more on the intrinsic side...

I liked this one. It was very straightforward and described the human endeavor very well. Good work! :D
