Lover Whom I Never Called Lover

Lover Whom I Never Called Lover

A Poem by Diana

Lover Whom I Never Called Lover

And I said

I’d never claim you

as such.

But you became that to me.

Lover, whom I never called lover...

I loved you still.

Lover whom I never called lover.

And I know these words sound hollow.

And I know these words don’t ring true.

I’m so sorry we fell apart...

right from the start.

There was once a boy who completely captured me. All I know is his name was Michael and he had soft brown hair and sharp green eyes. He was mine, but he never knew that. This piece just made my heart skip a beat, because I just caught a glimpse of him for a moment. That was almost 25 years ago. Man. Angi~

Thanks for sharing, Angi. Some people we don't forget, no matter how long it's been.

Some people are meant to be lovers, some only wish they could be. Better to have loved and then kicked them to the curb,,,,, or something like that.

Nice, Trace

Those missed love affair leave us wishing we stop and tried. I like the way you led the reader into good thoughts and possibilities. I like how you closed out the poem. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Thank you.
This is so sad my friend. Wonderfully written, but the emptiness is felt.

Thank you for taking a moment to appreciate it.
It reads like a blatant stare...deep and arrow-straight to the heart.

I wouldn't change the title...it snares the eye, as is. Very much enjoyed this, Diana!

So emotional for me...like my soul is in this piece.
I can't say more. This is so remarkable.

Thank you.
Bittersweet loveliness in this write. The repetition of "Lover whom I never called lover" is so effective. Some relationships are not meant to be! Very well written. Lydi**

You are welcome...:)
I originally was going to call this People on Pedestals, but changed my mind. Not sure how that impacts (or would have impacted) the piece.
