"Smile more. You’ll look better.”

"Smile more. You’ll look better.”

A Poem by Diana

"Smile more. You’ll look better.”

You tell me to smile more.

So, I do.

My smile is garish.

Glaringly bright.

And you say: "There.

You look better."

But to look

is not to feel.

Indeed, so many hide darkness behind a smile. The world does not want to see that darkness...they prefer a smile even if it is a fake one. Good write. Lydi**

So much truth to your words. Thank you, Lydia. :)
Diana, you have written pure truth in this short but wonderful poem. I can't tell you how many times someone has told me to smile and my first thought is, what good will that do. Very nicely done my friend.

Yes, what good will it do?
You are so right. It is important to feel good before we look good. Some people can fake smiles but within they are sad and hurt...A very good write...:)
