I Open To You

God loves you, no matter how old you are when you find him.

This is another old one, I wrote it when I was 16. (Im almost 18 now so, yeah)

 

 

As I grow older, God becomes a bigger part of my life,

So when I'm in the dark, God brings me the light.

Through my almost 17 years of living, I never realized,

The impact he could have on me,

Though now as I am almost an adult,

I see that he, is all I need.

Once you let Christ in your heart,

And open up to his arms,

You'll be surprised just how far,

You can get from the Devils charm.

There is no reason why,

You should be afraid to give in to Jesus,

Let him hear your cries,

As you give him your trust,

For NO man could ever,

Love you and I, this much.

 

So I'm opening up to you my Lord,

I'm letting you hear my cries,

I'm here to follow your word,

And praise you till I die.

I'll shed a tear for you,

As this poem I continue to write,

You are the only one who,

Has been with me, my entire life.

 

Though I was a child,

Innocent, yes, yet I was blind.

Though as I grew,

I began to see the light,

As a child, I went to Church,

But as I grew, I grew away from you,

The man who could take my hurt.

Yet I was blind Lord, and yes I'm sorry,

That I never knew, what you could do for me.

I know it's been over a year,

Since I was last in your home,

And I have no excuse to use,

But I just want you to know,

I knew, that with every new breath,

You were right beside me,

To help me take another step.

 

I know should have stayed by your side,

Just as you stayed with me,

I should have welcomed you in my life,

Sooner than the age of sixteen.

But here I am Lord, take me as I am,

I'll try to spread your word,

As I learn to understand,

That you are the only one,

Who will never let go of my hand.

So I open up my heart to your love,

As I give you all of mine,

It might not be as strong as yours,

But I promise to love you right.

And if that promise I shall not keep,

I pray to you Lord,

Please forgive me.

This is great and very very true. Dont stop writing. You have got a gift. For the age you wrote this poem, you seem very wise and i am sure you are twice as wise now. Always beleive in god. And never ever give up in him. This is great. Great work!!

This is great. I wish I was this wise when I was your age. Your going to have a fruitful journey with God. I can see a wonderful hunger in your heart for God. You will never be sorry to never let that hunger die. Thank you for your poem. I like the way it flows.
