Live For The Future

Live For The Future

A Story by D Poet K
"

Someone has it better yet someone also has it worse than you...

"

They say nothing lasts forever, but time continuously moves, the earths surface rotates while we sleep, pray, dream and eat, and its been here for approximately 4.6 billion years. Though if nothing lasts forever, does forever even exist? And if it doesnt, should we really be greedy enough to even want forever after having that many years? I'm a philosopher, I think of all things, there's a meaning for why you're here reading this "story" topic I just suddenly decided to write. It might sound like jibberish and the words might not fit together, but when you just have the need to speak, the inspiration to write and the FREE WILL to do what you want. You have to take the opportunity and let it all out. Now I have no idea if this should even be under the category "Philosophy" but questions such as "What is the meaning of life?" is, philosophy, is it not?

Sometimes you just have to ask yourself, "what am I on this earth for?" Maybe its to make someone smile, cry or laugh. Maybe its because life is only a test that we have to live and pass so real life can be lived in Heaven. If you believe Heaven even exist that is. Some of you may believe in the Evolution, some may believe we came from Apes, some may be like me and believe man came from dirt and woman came from that mans rib. Either way you look at it, we're all here and we all have a meaning. We all love with our hearts and function from our brain. We all rest our eyes at some point in during the day.  We all nurish ours bodies with food whether it be meet or vegetables. We all relieve ourselves in the restroom and everybodies blood turns red once it hits the air.

Life is frustrating, but even when it gets too bad to bare, we still have to hold on. We still have to look at the brighter side of things so we don't break down and fall into pieces. Somebody out there has it worse than you, and yes somebody has it better. Yet you cant dwell on what you don't have, you need to cherish the little bit that you do. Family, friends, a few dollars or cents, the ability to be able to walk and run when others are bound to a wheelchair for the rest of their lives. The ability to be able to read this "story" when others cant even look up and see the sun set or rise anymore. The ability to be able to hear a beautiful song when others are less fortunate and cant even hear the birds chirping in the early morning. So the next time you get in a fight with a loved one, think of how you were able to HEAR their voice and SEE their face. And the next time you don't have enough money for an extra gallon of gas, just think of all the people less fortunate who don't even have a car to put gas in. The next time you get tired from walking around at your job all day, think of those who can't even walk to their kitchen or run with their children or friends anymore.

The next time you get your heartbroken, just think of how you loved once, and how you were fortunate to even have felt that emotion when some die before they even can try to fall in love. At least YOU have another chance to find someone who will love you. Life is full of choices and even though everything happens for a reason, we also have a say in what will happen in our futures. Don't blame your mistakes on others, don't blame your life on the enviremont you live in. Because even the poorest man can make something of himself. Even a woman living in the worst ghetto can become a wealthy woman. As long as she or he has the willpower to change the way they were brought up.

Conclusion: No one can control your life to the point where you can do nothing for yourself. Independence and knowledge are key. Use every opportunity that comes your way to prove you can be somebody and that you will be somebody. Don't let life bring you down, let life bring you up.

And don't dwell on the past, but instead, take in the present and live for the future.

I really love this.
It is all too true that so may think about what could have been and forget what they have.
I have and even still do at times dwell on some events of my past yet over the last few years in particular I have learned to live for the future.

Far too many in this day and age belive happiness can only be achived with fame and fortune.
It's nice to see others in the world with far more realistic views.
you are very talented and I should know I read a lot of work by many many writers.

inspirational. It is more of an essay, but a good one.

Very much like the story of a boy who wanted new shoes.

Funny how there are so few people our age who believe this. Most young people are too wrapped up in their own lives and the everyone has done me wrong and the world is out to get me to realize any of this. Life is what we make of it not what is handed to us. To be wealthy does not mean to be happy and the to be happy does not mean to have everything we could possibly want. This was really inspirational. Great write!
