Hospital-ized

Hospital-ized

A Poem by Danielle Teresa

beep beep...

beep beep...

beep beep...

beeeep..............

life attached to sound,

death marked with silence in this disease infested prison

i await my time

doing his time

both doing time

mine sentenced without crime

voluntarily

so similar our insanity

on opposite sides of the law

occupying this space in time

trying to survive the noise              beep...beep

running from the silence                .................

freedom from the chains-

my ball and chain

his chain linked cuffs

the air so rough

awaiting the sun

hours to rise...

our escape to the outside...

lives intertwined.
