Street Coffin

Street Coffin

A Poem by Danielle Teresa

light it up

turn it on

engine blaring

blast that song

hit the gas

glide those turns

one wrong move

you'll be gone

this game we play from a to b

a simple task as you may see

those who have past may disagree

for their mistakes they paid the fee

with their lives the highest price

each day we breathe we roll the dice

before you decide to make a move

think of all the experiences you may lose

so be cautious check each lane

remember slow down in the snow and rain

for every second we take a chance

you just might lose sight with one quick glance

there is no saying who is to blame

but turning those keys really is no game

I think you did a great job with the ryhming and the flow of this piece. I am saving this to my library and also printing it out. My son is taking drivers ed and I want him to read it.
the two lines I like the best are:
each day we breath we roll the dice
and
think of all the experiences you may lose
great message put into great words
