We Live Strong...A Poem by Danielle TeresaThe Journey of Life from BirthFor 9 months we are cradled in a warm safe world which consists of two beings, a mother and her unborn child. We live for a short period of time in complete and utter perfection. All we depend upon is the life which nurishes us...cares for us. The moment we enter the outside, we begin a journey to find that warmth and safety in whatever we do. From then on we are a product of the world around us leaving us susceptible to impressions that we can not control. Every interaction we have had with another human being has shaped us to who and what we are today. We yearn for warmth and safety but we find coldness and unpredictable circumstances. We reach far and wide for the feeling that only our mothers provided us while we were in her womb. Our journey is long, hard, confusing, frustrating, amazing, wonderful, fruitful, empty, incredible and brutal at times. We cross different paths and find alternative ways to live our everyday lives. We love, we hate, we have sorrow, we have happiness, we establish bonds, we lose those closest to us, we fall, we fall hard but we are strong, we stand up, we learn to walk again, we adapt, we survive. This journey of life was never meant to be easy, for if it was, it wouldn’t be the blessing that it is. In times of despair and hopelessness we have remarkable abilities to push on. We have hope in the greatness that has yet to come. We live, we live strong, we become. We find that ultimate feeling of warmth and safety within ourselves, within the fiber of our beings. And when we get there we gain consciousness of what it was like for us those 9 months in her womb. When we get there we are re-born. © 2008 Danielle Teresa |
