Bitter

Bitter

A Poem by Doxophobia

It's like the winter never leaves
With the frost
The bitterness
Stuck to the trees
Clinging for something other than hope
because we can't reach
for anything higher
than just above our heads
Can we?
I am too lazy
You are too lazy
WE are too lazy to try
try
try
Try hard enough to wipe the tears from our cheeks
To wipe the dew from the grass
To wipe the frost from the leaf
The we have planted
Hoping that it is a seed
when really it is nothing
a leaf
A small particle to something so big
do we matter?
Can we succumb to the bitterness of winter
Or are we forever going to live in agony
and pain
because summer might never
come again.
