Ink Stains IV

Ink Stains IV

A Poem by Brown Eyed Girl

IV. Resolution

Take your beautiful girl
and run
Cover her ears
close her eyes
Once the ink
stains her page
she will never escape
And she will never
be the same

Let her believe
in everything
Teach her to
need nothing more
than what she has
staring back at her
in the mirror
Let her wings darken the sky
its the only way
she will ever
truly
fly

They already have taken mine
each dream always
ends the same
I run, even for a moment
toes leave the ground
never high enough
fast enough
I already
have forgotten how

I tip my head back
loosen your grip on my palm
You kiss my forehead
And I turn away

I cannot board
your ship
there is no heaven
I cannot sail
your yacht to  hell
I'm already there
I cannot  pass you
I cannot join you

you won't come with me
I will not let her
follow me
You are all that stands
to hold her back
When she sees
that I have gone

Just make sure
you do
Make sure
she has the safety
Of your arms
to bury her head
And purge her tears

Or she will
surely follow me
She will dare demons
to strike her down
She will beg ropes
to bind her
and haul her off
to join me

read the
ink stained book
tarnished in
my history
what she will become
if you let her

So say Goodbye
close the door
write it down
but never
let her read it

About
I love to read, I love to write. I have been a lot of places and done a lot of things. In that time I have found writing to be one of the most satisfying pastimes. I make no claims to being any good.. more..
