Silver SplendorA Poem by dovetailera beautiful night
Silver Splendor
The big ole moon shines down on me tonight and you... it gives your body a silver cast lyin' there...big as life on our blanket on the meadow lawn the night is warm yet cool on our skin your head on my arm your long hair smells like lavender your laughter is hearty and unrestrained as it carries across the lea your voice is smooth mellifluous our clothes are folded over there... and we...naked...warm each other as we chat about love...life...family...baseball...the moon above I could listen to your Southern lilt for hours...but not tonight I'm distracted as hell by the feel of your body exciting mine we touch and tingle as we talk ready but not rushed to love but...soon... the night's so bright I can watch you lips form every word you speak you're beautiful wonderfully made abundantly blessed a coyote howls in the distance at our moon and his... crickets chirp and fireflies twinkle in this meadow we share... an airplane flies overhead... its vapor trail silhouetted in the argent moonlight suddenly we're silent not for lack of words but our souls are whispering we dare not interrupt we, spellbound...fix our gaze
and know the time Is right our time is now... you raise a knee I lean to kiss your waiting lips I lie upon you waiting willingness soon...we are magic in motion and our sounds join the cacophony of the nickelic night... © 2010 dovetailer |
