what are we?

to be what we can

 

what makes one soul cleave to another?

makes one heart beat for another?

makes us wish...

want...

wonder what we will be...?

…friends?...

…more?...

who can say which stars aligned

to bring us together

on the same path

in the same orbit...

were we meant to meet

on a given day...?

a predetermined event planned

eons ago perhaps...

when earth was just a glimmer

in the Creator's eye?

perhaps a seed was planted

in another life

without opportunity  to bloom...until now...

who knows what kind of blossom

we might become?

I heard your voice tonight

for the very first time...

your words were soft rain

on dry ground...

I drank up every drop...

but I am thirsty still...

you seem so familiar

yet...we've never met...

perhaps we'll never meet...

but I pray to every god that hears

...that we will...
