shining starA Poem by dovetailerwill these tears never end?Shining Star Over 70 sextillion observable stars in the night sky and now there is one more. For you it must seem like they all have been extinguished by one cruel twist of fate. He was yours...beloved ...your promise ...your future ...the chalice of your dreams ...a shining star in your life... and now, he’s gone. Life is a cruel puppeteer and we’re his marionettes. It gives and takes with no regard for our wishes ...like a petulant child He was handsome...gifted... He was the gleam in his father’s eye and the apple of yours ...and now, he’s gone. Don’t even try to see the sense in this... you will only add frustration to your grief. How do you forget? Will you ever forget? How can you? His memory is sconced...in heart...in memories where he has always been and will ever be... a constant source of laughter and tears. How can we forgive? Who DO we forgive? There is no culprit here...although we want there to be someone...something...to shoulder the blame for this. something to point at and scream ...“YOU B*****D!” It isn’t right! We all know. He was a beautiful boy. His future within his reach...poised to blossom and delight as he always has done. It isn’t right to be bereft ...for no good reason. Is there no end to these tears? Your eyes will dry. Your grief feels like a raw and open wound! You will heal. How do you carry a weight that is so unbearable as this? You carry it away...one piece every day to where you keep your treasures. It surely isn’t right that he has gone. But, it wasn’t his choice... or yours. If any of us had to choose... he would be here. He is free from life’s uncertainty and, ironically, ...a reminder of it. His life, now...another bright star in the sky that shines down on us as we continue our own. © 2010 dovetailerReviews
