RomanceA Poem by dovetailerhopelessly romanticRomance my heart is such a tender thing... it trusts so easily... it leads me to all loveliness and errs repeatedly so easy bruised... oft black and blue... it not a lesson learns... I try to hide to keep it safe my efforts…all...it spurns "are you quite mad?..." I interject "to face down danger so?" "if we don't try to learn to love... how will we ever know? it fills me with such hopefulness it weaves with threads of gold... it fills me with such longing ache... my story yet untold a glutton...yea... for punishment I'm wrong more than I'm right... but I have been loved once before... I loved with all my might... so small my heart… it pounds away... a titan in my chest… and when it comes to giving all... it never need a rest... it's not unscarred… so often hurt but ne'er a mortal blow… my heart’s been down but never out there is one thing I know... I trust my heart... it knows and feels... it wants unselfishly... with it I love with weak-kneed bliss… and so abundantly... I throw myself into the fray… I dare...I take the chance… another hit to get high on this drug they call "Romance...!" © 2010 dovetailerReviews
