silver moonA Poem by dovetailera perfect night…silver moon… a full moon... suspended in a ink-black sky of stars gilding everything it sees in soft silver moonglow... the water surface is glass... a mirror of the heavens... unbroken...quiet...still... resplendent in luxuriant solitude... a woman stands barefoot at water’s edge... a silver nymph with jade eyes that sparkle... reflecting the moon and a billion stars... her heart reflects a different way... contemplating...life...love...cruelty...pain... longing to understand her place in all this... a night owl glides without effort through the trees... it hoots hauntingly to the cacophonous cheeping of a thousand peepers... the moon's reflection... a silver highway to the heavens... calling "COME"... heeding the call... seeking serenity... she doffs her clothes... steps naked into the water... into the mercury moonlight... forming a vortex of radiating ripples... fracturing the pristine reflection Into rings of black and silver... cool water cradles her …immersed... she senses all... suspended in the soothing embrace of this womb... limbs outstretched she floats and feels the dark clear water's cool caress... communes with the goddess of the Moon... soaks up the sentient starlight... all that roiled her spirit... made her fraught with fears... is drawn from her soul...at last... she floats away... at home In this moment... In this silver serenity... © 2010 dovetailerReviews
