transformationA Poem by dovetailerthe tenderness within...transformation... the she-
beast paced back...forth with
tearing teeth bared and
claws unsheathed... ...clicking
on stones... with
beryl cat-eyes warily watched the
man... sensing
danger...sniffed the air pregnant
with love... but not
fear... knees in
the dirt...he waited...watched... he saw
her danger- face but did
not flee she ran
at him...diamond-crusted skin-spines gleamed
in silver moonlight... with
frightening roar rent the
stillness testing
the mettle of the man... stopping
short of tearing into mortal
throat eye to
eye they peered... the she-
beast and the man... into the
souls of the other... beryl-
green versus deep-ocean blue... with
diamond-nail mail... spines
razor-tipped... rattling
in readiness... he felt
her breath touch his skin... unafraid
of mortal end... with
outstretched arms closed
his eyes... tipped
back his head... offered
his throat... his life... to the
feral nature of the beast... trusting...hoping
to feel the lust
that filled the silver air with the
scent of her musky
dew that dripped... with
bared fangs her nip
pierced alabaster skin drew
blood... red
rivulet of life flowed
slowly down his exposed breast... before
it dripped...wasted...to the dirt the
she-beast caught it on her tongue making
it a different shade of red... with one
taste knew everything about the man... the
mythic pool from whence he sprang... his
hurt...his pain... his love
and loved... things
risen above and conquered... the
scars belied the valor in his soul... she
understood... and in
that moment knew they
were the same... she
trusted... sheathed
protective spines and
knelt... with loving eyes...he touched her face... once fierce...now willing... a kiss
rendered on purring lips... a
blinding flash of light... transformed...in
an instant... into
beauty...long hidden away... once
shielded from pain... one
woman...one man... now
naked in the cleansing silver glow of
the moon... felt the
virgin touch of the
