" Will I Tell Them "A Poem by dougspoetrySharing our faithThe conversation carried on for hours As we covered all the current events, My heart open to sports, and world powers, But on the subject of faith it relents.
So many instances throughout each day To impart this good news which I carry, But words get tongue tied or changed on the way Still of peoples responses I'm wary.
Self centered witness I truly must be For my hearts greatest concerns always self, Knowing the one who can set people free And then storing Him on a prideful shelf.
If I had the knowledge for cancer's cure I'm sure compassion would cause me to share, But I have the gospel, heaven secure Though are the people around me aware?
Will loved ones be here to face tomorrow My acquaintances, family, and friends, What happens when the call comes in sorrow And opportunity to witness ends?
Now clearly there's no time like the present For conveying truths that have not been said, Overcoming my fears isn't pleasant Though I'll have peace when I lay down my head.
