When I Speak!A Story by Paige L. Brooks (Call me Andy)This is a sort of speech I wrote in my 8th grade year of middle school for no particular reason in general.
"I speak to you not only as a friend or companion, but as a person. For I speak to you in times of sorrow and times of despair. I speak to you of hope, anger, love, and sacrafice. I do not speak to you so you can turn a blind eye - I do not speak to you and expect you to listen. I say to you the things anyone person would say to you and more. I speak for those who can't, those who won't, and those who have not been heard. But, when I speak I speak for you. For all of you. This is our time to be heard - our time to speak up. You look into the eyes of those around you and those of the world. You see all the hurt, saddness, joy, and anger. You speak for them and for yourself. We. Will not go silently in the night - no. I speak for, not only myself, but for us. When I speak I make it known. Speak your words and speak them for the history books. Because we are the voices of today, the words of yesterday and we are.. The people of tomorrow."
