Venus Under Glass

Venus Under Glass

A Poem by dc

Pale nude an unfulfilled promise in black and white,

she is as haunted as the ocean she has never seen.

Her frame is a golden window, a want without need -

like new shoes to a legless amputee.

She is as caged as a bird while no less beautiful, even less free.

About
Some days, I begin writing and a poem makes itself known, as if it wrote itself somewhere in the back of my mind and waited for the right time to make it's debut. Other days, I have to work at it, and.. more..
