Dear...you,

Dear...you,

A Poem by Shadin Manning

Dear...you,

Your lips whispered hypnotic connotations in my ear

It was sweet, it was charming, and it was intoxicating

In all realities, you were too

I smelled the cheap wine on your breath, on your being

We walked, we talked, we laughed, we danced

Sub textually , you wanted to make love to me

Subconsciously I concurred

We could have been liberated from the shackles that hinders us

A perfect balance of the troubled and the care taker

The man and the woman

We could’ve been beautiful

You were afraid of me, I was afraid of you

You were afraid of yourself, I was afraid of myself

All we could do was hold each other’s hands

My hand still remembers your touch

I hope your hand remembers mine

You stay in your closet

And I’ll stay a prude.

P.S. we should kill our egos, before our egos kill us…or you might just be really good at playing mind games.

Oh, it's probably the latter.
smh...
I did very much enjoy this poem, though!
Very juicy and stimulated my cosmic/metaphysical senses!
