So Fake, So Real

So Fake, So Real

A Poem by Shadin Manning

I love blue but I always where pink

I’m so smart but I don’t know how to think

I can be happy go lucky and love all the duckies

But give your bones a chill with my malevolent kills

I have a heart like a man but a mind like a woman

I can be Mary Poppins or become Sir Bowman

I see everything I hear and hear everything I see

I sting like butterfly but socialize like a bee

I keep my mind open and heart closed

My body slouches but my mind is posed

My reality is in black and white, without a light in sight

And my dreams are in technicolor, with the sunlight so bright

I was born to die and I’ll die to live

I hate but take everything the universe has to give

When I walk down the street, I stumble on my feet

But when I'm dancing my heart out I don't miss a beat

How can I eat the banana but hate the peel?

How can something so fake be so real?

I loved this write, There is some truth swirling around in this creative write. Love the metaphors. The flow and rhyme scheme was amazing as well.
