Cold Boy

Cold Boy

A Poem by Shadin Manning

There was a boy

Who never understood

Why the world around him was so cold...

He wore his coat to keep him warm

The cold swepted through the comforting warmth of the coat

Making him cold inside

He became sick...

*cough cough*

His eyes were watery

And his nose was runny

He didn't want anyone bothering him

He didn't want to get out of bed

He didn't even want to be alive

The world around him is too cold

He had so many people who cared for him

They gave him medicine but he refused to take it

He didn't believe in it

He didn't believe the people around him...

His sickness was fatal now

Killing him softly

He felt himself get weaker and weaker

With each passing day

He could no longer take the cold

The cold has transformed him to ice

Just like the world around him

So he peacefully closed his eyes

And began his eternal sleep

A moment he's been anticipating

And the sickeness finally vanished...

This poem is very well written. I feel each emotion runing through your whole text. I also love your concept and the comparison (cold weather and cold-hearted boy ). You have a big potential to become a successful poet, because you have the ability to fill your readers' head and soul with emotions and pictures. I also have to congrat you for the thoroughly written escalation of events, how it all started and how it finally ended.Great work!
