Tangled

Tangled

A Poem by Singular D

Your inner child's crying, you've just begun to feel...
You're walking through past tragedies and learning how to heal.

She's self-absorbed, a hypocrite, who doesn't understand...
why you don't fall down to your knees on her first command.

You owe her.
Don't you know that yet?... She sacrificed for you.
You hung around and wore her down, you weren't what she deserved.
You clearly were an experiment, that needed to be observed...

Why, she has a masters and did ballet... she's above you, don't you see?
As she drinks her third glass of wine and smokes her second bowl of weed.

You became her cross to bear...

While your inner child raged on in self destructive ways...
neglected and confused.
The bad choices made, women laid, alcohol abused,
to fill the emptiness within, from which the dark secret stemmed.

Don't stop healing now, get sucked back into black.
Keep your mind present, feed it what is lacked.

You've made it through the darkest, friend, I promise you this.
For now your eyes are open wide... the light is blazing in.

I'll be here for you no matter what, I love you can't you see.
For out of all the mess of life...

there's always you and me.
