Carnal Knowledge

Carnal Knowledge

A Poem by Singular D

Do you know, love
The damage I could do?
As my kiss slowly
gathers speed
down your body.
It's difficult to
control my greed.
I could devour you.
The essence of you
on my tongue
causes me to bare my teeth,
draw my nails across your skin.
You are an elixir,
I drink you in.
Intoxicated by the beating of your heart
and the movement of your
body in response to my touch.
Desire has taken over
I am no longer responsible
for my actions.
I surrender
and
conquer
leaving you breathless,
suspended in nirvana
within my arms.

I remember that feeling.Vividly
But passions flames soon die away
I value what I have today
The embers are still warming me.
a lot of love a little lust
we have had time to adjust.
We know each other inside out
That leaves no room at all for doubt
For I love her and she loves me
Exactly as it ought to be
