How far would you go

How far would you go

A Poem by Dominic Rosales
"

This is a poem asking your truth about how far you truly would go

"
How far would you go?

If someone called your girlfriend a ho

Would you punch'em in the face, or just say, so
Or would you say, what makes you say that? or that's really low
Underneath your skin, lies and lies grow
Lying is your savior, cause you could never say no
Drugs was the only way to go

Go and do something you want, cause inside your a shallow
Or cut yourself and watch your self bleed too slow

This is when you wanna pretend your face is grass and you mow
How far would you go?
Is the question I wanna know
Shoot yourself and hope you don't end up below

Fight to the death, end up on skids row
As the sun goes down, and the river starts to flow
Really, tell me, how far would you go?

I like the rhyming pattern. Both techniques of rhyming and rhythm are excellently used in this poem. Were you angry when you wrote this? Because I can really feel the energy, the heat and the fierceness of the question. How far would I go...as you said in your poem, I really would say "what makes you say that?" but then after some thought, I think would say no. This poem provoked all sorts of thoughts, beyond the question that started it all, which makes it very excellent. Write on!
