A Poem by donny ingraham

I've been down for so long
The light of day seemed like a dream
Looking and searching in the dark
It has been hard to find myself
Being so low
Getting up seems like a miracle
My voice was without words
Swallowed by silence
Mirrored by my surroundings
Hoping for crumbs to fall from the table
The places I've been hid
Are now memories
No more shackles
The only place left is up
There are many steps to climb
Many rivers to cross
Determination taught me never to let go
Trials have come
Making it through it all is worth the story
Dreaming out loud
Living life on tv
