On Hope

On Hope

A Poem by donny ingraham

Living on hope

slowly it's fading

belief in government is now a mist

This elevator is going down

people are trying living by the skin of their teeth

the cup is empty

The wealthy oppress

crumbs fall from their table

we fight for the taste of pie

Leaders speak of hope

but banks legally robbing me

pressure placed upon my shoulders

Looking people in the face

yet trying to conceal the pain

not letting them know what I go through

Your words are true and happening everywhere in the USA and the world. I hope we learn to get rid of the lousy Senators and House Representatives. Need less government and a few honest people to run this government. Thank you for the poem. I agree with your statements.
