Living Fast

Living Fast

A Poem by donny ingraham

Can't afford bail
Low income housing I remain
Everyday I pray for something more
The world remains out of touch
Corporate America continues to hold me down
It seems as if trying to live is my struggle
The government throws me crumbs
It's not enough to get by
The tears cried formed rivers
Working two jobs
Yet my dreams remains distant
My hands are stained with dirt and oil
Car doors are locked when I pass
Yet I move on
I pray for rain
Please hide my tears
Placing a smile upon my face
Hiding my pain
Trying to give others hope
Telling them the sun will shine
While darkness is at the door
