Only a Man

Only a Man

"
Only a man would understand
these struggles and pain
and yet not cry
Working a job you hate
trying to redirect all hate
knuckles sore and bruished
Trying to handle responsibility
and being a lover
a father
A work day doesn't end
each moment a constant fight
another struggle
but can't afford to shed a tear
Nor reflect upon the hurt
shaking it off
people are depending upon you
setting personal feelings aside
Being a superman who bleeds
cut and injured from life
battered and belittled
A paycheck doesn't equal to this pain
being forced to suck it up
and deal with it
holding back the tears

Men and woman who work hard can find peace rarely. The common person is barely surviving. Your poem told a real story of most people in the world. I believe we must put aside the bad things. Enjoy time with family and find laughter. A strong ending to a excellent poem.
