Feast

Feast

A Poem by Dr. Jack

"barbeque for dinner" said the Devil to the sinner
"i'm the host for this roast so here's a toast".
You wouldn't heed the warning, now comes the burning
my gifts were alluring for your soul they were calling
from night until dawn will be darkness and mourning
the gnashing of teeth from unquenchable heat
once beneath your feet, i now have you beat
my unending deceit is my glorious feat
on this wonderful feast in the belly of the beast
you're our blazing guest so we'll be at our best
from the pain that you feel you will never heal
that hole burning within will never be sealed
you made your choice and you hearkened to my voice
i'm glad that you did for that was the seed
the joy that you brought me in thought and in deed
now you shall reap from brimstone in heaps
the everlasting torment,in a fiery torrent
an unending stream of pain, sorrow and anguish
no need to regret and it's too late for threats
there's nothing you can do, i already own you
your soul has become mine i'll treat as i please
and the earth is my gold mine i'll get more with ease
no need to be sorry, it's the least of your worries
for on your pain is what i dine and your forever has become mine.
