A Poem by Delaney

I miss you and you’re still here
You don’t walk to me anymore
Sometimes I wish you did
But I’ll pick you up, I’ll carry you to bed

You don’t walk to me anymore
I don’t think you were ever coming towards me
But I’ll pick you up, I’ll carry you to bed
You can stay, until you’re ready to go

I don’t think you were ever coming towards me
That’s okay, I’ll love you anyway
You can stay, until you’re ready to go
Please don’t go

That’s okay, I’ll love you anyway
I cannot imagine a million lives lived without you
Please don’t go
I’ll hold you so fondly

I cannot imagine a million lives lived without you
You almost died the day I took you home
I’ll hold you so fondly
You curl up to me in the dead of night

You almost died the day I took you home
Sometimes I wish you did
You curl up to me in the dead of night
I miss you and you’re still here

Beautiful words of longing. A melancholy ache runs through the lines. I am a cat lover and I could easily apply these words to my fickle cat. I adore her but she kisses me one minute and tears into my skin the next. At least she doesn't wander off. She likes her dreamies too much. (treats)

The repetition and the melodious flow sweeps right through, it could be a rescued animal or person but it is moving just the same. A pang and an ache that's deep and hard to word. And here it is in beautiful lines of words. Thanks for sharing.
