The Dark

The Dark

A Poem by Prometheus
"

Childish poem about the dark

"
Night does arrive on gossamer wings.
Darkness conceals woes daylight brings!
Fears of reality are traded in stead
For the dreams and hopes inside of your head.
Those who fear the dark never know
The liberation from life darkness bestows!
Monster and demons don't dwell in the night
They walk among us in broad daylight!
In darkness of the womb we were conceived,
So, it is a part of us to receive.
Our troubles start when as a baby we are brought to the light,
But our true nature is revealed when we shut our eyes tight!
If you are wise, and truly enlightened
Seek refuge in the shadows, it isn't that frightening!
Welcome the darkness of night, like and old friend,
And dream sweet dreams until the sun daylight sends.

Whilst some of your meter sways a little here and there, - and if i may be allowed to say - a prose poem might have captured more of your thoughts, the need for light and refreshment, goodness and freedom from woes is finely expressed, gently acknowledged in your poem.

It was a good poem. Some parts didn't feel like it flowed as well, it was just written to make sure the whole thing kept it's rythming scheme. I think it's a good piece that has more potential than it realized.

This is very descriptive, although there could have been introduction of different points regarding the topic, as opposed to (well-executed) repetition. Otherwise, a lovely, lovely piece.

I definitely like the rhyming and the easy rhythm of the poem itself. I also like that you refer to the darkness as an old friend and it is just as much apart of our nature as the light. It's not something we should fear but embrace! Its crazy cause we're conditioned to associate evil and scary things with the dark.
