A poem about the past experiences of relationships and how they affect future relationships
Separate
Ways
Two paths cross, but don't align
One rushes in
The other needs time
Two weary souls searching for fate
One is sure, but one thinks chance arrived too late
One fears the future, and one the past
One believes in love, the other believes it don't last
Where these paths merge, one is high
The other low
Where they'll lead?
No one knows
This poem is so good I can feel the emotion you put into it, especially since I know what you've been through. I can feel the effort and the pain you've inscribed into this piece.
Yes it does speak to me on a personal level. Relationships for me are so hard, we are all so different and my experiences are just like your poem. I would love to find someone on the same page as I am, but for now, single is fine! Nice writing!
Yes - only too often a relatioship falters or, perhaps, pauses, because the people involved are different, which of course - we all are. Attitudes vary, agendas differ.. past experieneces tremble in the air according to the season of heart and mind. Nobody can control it. Takes but that one great ingredient.. love.
This poem speaks to many, and the longer the person has lived, the more likely they've experienced this emotional hell more than once. As you convey in this poem, we're often looking for the same thing, but we're usually on different paths, and our past journeys have made us a bit weary and guarded. Nice work.
