Screech

Screech

A Poem by D. Mansfield

The feedback coming through the amps, is life.
Screeching so loud it's deafening
So loud people around me grab at their ears.
I just smile, reach over and crank that b***h up.

Every musician among us is familiar with that screech but the audience won't stay long with that cacophony drowning out the music. I'm reminded of Hendrix version of The Star Spangled Banner with distortion and feedback mimicking the chaos of war.

I laughed out loud reading this one, D! You are that personality. The arrogant and the playful.
Good combination.
I like the poem.
