![]() Words are my CourageA Poem by D. Mansfield![]() ![]() some play a saxophone, til they are blue in the face. some drink so much, they feel like a disgrace. some beat on drums, til they are sweaty and spent, some will do heroin, off a spoon that they bent. some try to play the guitar, slowly plucking the strings wishing they were somewhere else, stuck in the in betweens. some just have a song, stuck in their head bouncing around endlessly, til they fall asleep in bed. some will wail on a harp, til they cant blow anymore. some will smoke fentenyl til they fall on the floor. some will lay down rhythm, all night on a bass guitar. then scream down the highway,in a classic car words are my music, they are how I sing words are my drug, there's no in between I keep them close to me, never in storage. words are my self esteem, they are my courage
