A thing, for things

A thing, for things

A Poem by D. Mansfield
"

The reference to Valium and getting stitches, Every time I've ever taken it, I have a scar on my body. The stuff is a little too good for me.

"
I've never really had, a thing for things.
Don't need a fancy car, or, the payment that it brings.
When I heat up a can of soup, I do it in a pan.
When i feel like getting stitches, I take diazipam .

When my car door handle breaks.
I roll down the Window,
When I want to disparage someone
I don't use innuendos.

New furniture, has never been my bag,
Old sofas, and comfy chairs that sag.
My tables are all a little wobbly, and they creak,
When I eat a salad, I like lettuce leaf.

I don't get regular haircuts. That seems kind of prissy.
I don't take alot of s**t, no one would call me a sissy.
I detail my own car. . . . ., right before I sell it,
My car is a piece of s**t, but I don't open window and yell it.

Don't hang pictures of things on my walls,
Don't have extra coats or jackets for the fall.
I don't have a building for my business
Never much liked the seasont of Christmas .

But friends I have to have. I keep plenty of them close.
When i have too much liquor, I need an antidote.

Thank you, I wasn't finished before, made changes hope u like it
I relate to this so much....grew up in a situation in which things were of utmost importance.

And all I wanted was the shirt on my back and friends...I like how deftly you use slant rhyme in this piece.

Nice theme and nicely laid out.
