I am the penny, that stays on the ground.

I am the penny, that stays on the ground.

A Poem by D. Mansfield
"

The hits just keep coming. LMAO I am even sick of reading these crappy, dark. poems. It the only that flow out of me,

"
I'm the penny, that stays on the ground,
People step right over me, like I wasnt around.
Shining in the sun, waIting to be found.
You walk right by, like i was gum on a shoe.
But you'd pick me up if you really knew.

I was poorly minted, they made a mistake,
They didnt put enough copper in me. I'm a fake.
I'm not worth alot of money, but I am rare.
People look at me and even stare.

No one wants me, it's just my fate,
As if they stopped to pick me, they might be late.
Maybe if I was a quarter, they would have time,
Those rough edges seem popular, I've scratched up mine.

I lay by the curb, passing the time
Thiinking of an old nursery rhyme.
The rain and storms have tarnished me brown
Now it's hard to see me, laying on the ground.

A pocket full of change, I will never know,
That's just the way it was meant to be,
I guess so
