Stuck on the same old song

Stuck on the same old song

A Poem by D. Mansfield

Good enough to be your driver,
Good enough to be your friend.
But when I need something of you
Your phone rings from end to end.

You happily tell me all about you,
But don't listen when I speak.
When I p l ay back the tapes,
I might as well be, paddling up a creek.

I'd rather be alone than lonely,
I've been stuck on the same old song,
Life is just way too short,
Time to be moving along.
