ThroneA Poem by D. Mansfield
All my life, it's been about me.
Challenged in ways people couldn't see. Misunderstood at every turn, I tried to fix it, tried to learn. So desperately wanted, you all to like me I lost the real meaning of being free. I pace in a cage , locked by me Longing for just a minute to be. As the years have flown by, The isolation grew Now I have all this time to think Why didn't I spend more with you. Such great emphasis on being alone, I've become king of my castle, Without owning a throne. © 2025 D. MansfieldAuthor's Note
