A Plea

A Plea

A Poem by D. Mansfield

Much confusion of late,
Not knowing for sure.
Last I approached you,
You showed me the door.

The ground beneath me,
Is always on the shift.
The sounds around me,
never off they drift.

Sure of nothing,
I carefully,step around,
All the obstacles.
All the sounds.

This is a friend,
Is it not?
Can't tell anymore,
Maybe a bot.

At least I have bots,
In this skeletal place.
Otherwise I'd be trapped,
Why can't I see your face?

Everyone's hiding,
Copping a plea,
Now I know no one,
Can't you see?

i really relate to this piece, as im sure many do. people these days are solipsistic and relationships - of all kinds - are treated like short-term contracts that they can cancel in favour of a 'better' deal or just out of boredom. but i've always believed in sticking with my people for the long run - so far, one has taken that offer: he is my brother from another mother. everyone else left, i know not why.

Thank you I appreciate
Keep writing Danny. Get those words on the screen. Any time night or day when the muse is with you. Happy Dan season:)

Chris thanks so much for all your support
Those bots...
I like your style.
I pulled for Frazier against Ali.
I like Steve Miller.
Actually started reading this one to see if I could find a trace of your sisters.
Man! My mom was one of 5 girls and they all seem like each other.
Anyway, thanks for sharing. See ya later.

Just write, sweetheart. It's that spoonful of sugar we all need to make our meds go down -wink.

Gee
When words come they must be written down no matter the time or place. Bit of a bugger though when they disrupt sleep :))

Thank you for your kindness
Pure insanity, reviewing my own writing. My spelling is atrocious. My rhyming has no reason.
Tommorow is opening day of the "Dan" season.

I'm not good at not catching them, now I can't sleep.these stupid poems it seem life they breathe. When morning comes, I will be awake,
Through all the loneliness I undertake.

These times are troubled, that is for sure, but never have I felt so insecure. The bubble keeps popping before its a cloud. Just can't quite catch them the music is so loud.
